Teranova joins the Anope Directory PDF Print E-mail

The Teranova IRC Network has moved it's IRC Services authentication over to the Anope Directory. For prior users of the Anope System this means that your IRC password for your nick will change from what it was to the one you use on Anope.

For users who did not have Anope accounts we have created one for you and scrambled the password, you can reset this by following the instructions below.

Users who cannot identify to their nicknames need to TRY resetting their password by putting their nickname into http://login.anope.org/forgotten.php

If it claims the nickname is not known they should REGISTER at http://login.anope.org making sure they use the EXACT same nickname & then identify using the password once it's set up.

If still no joy get in touch with us in #help

We will continue to run an old copy of the services database on a testnet so any conflicts in identity can be dealt with.

This will be a pain for all but worthwhile in the long run.

The Teranova Team would like to extend it's best wishes and regards to all of our friends and their families.

It's been a busy year for Teranova but we have plenty planned for the upcoming year being in a position with a strong team and plentiful resources we hope to push the limits further.

We are planning to introduce some web based systems for our users and would welcome any and all of your suggestions should you have any.

Further to a news release from UnrealIRCd regarding a backdoor trojan found in many of their downloads since November 2009 we have accelerated our planned migration to InspIRCd 1.2.

This will of course unfortunately bring a period of instability and downtime over the next 24 hours whilst we migrate our systems over.

We appreciate this is an inconvenience but we take the security of our users and our systems seriously.

We will update you throughout the process on the network.

Teranova embraces collaboration PDF Print E-mail

This evening Teranova upgraded our services software to Anope 1.9.1-p1 and resumed development on the idea of introducing LDAP functionality into the Teranova network stemming from the growing use of this technology within our guests; the Anope IRC Services Project.

These developments will allow us to work directly with the Anope Team to further their offering as Live SQL (website integration) is planned for the near future amongst other features.
